Jacksam Yang's Award-Winning Hair Salon Design: A Masterpiece in Spatial Fluidity

The Seamless Form is a unique hair salon design that stands out for its light-filled, airy ambiance. The white space is filled with a mass of clear material, creating an air-like, lightweight effect. This effect is achieved through light reflections, which give users an immersive and addictive experience. The end hall overlooks a water scene with a vertical garden, a narrative of the origins of life, providing a fitting closure to the brightly curved space.

One of the unique features of this design is the use of curves. These curves not only extend the visual effect of the space but also serve a functional purpose. They section off different rooms, each including a main cutting area, a hair-washing station, and various storage spaces. All functional needs are maintained in a hidden arrangement, allowing the overall spatial fluidity to be preserved. The elegance of the space is further enhanced by a slight touch of ornaments.

The Seamless Form is a blend of various materials including acrylic, marble, brass, and timber. The furniture and lighting are customized, adding to the uniqueness of the design. The salon, spread over an area of 190 square meters, is a testament to Yang's ability to create a harmonious blend of art and function.

The design process for the Seamless Form began in November 2011 in Taipei and was completed in March 2017. Yang was assisted by Huan-Sheng Kuo and Shih Hao in bringing this design to life. The design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2018, a testament to its creativity and professional excellence.
